Book Edge Slicer is a specialized tool for precise design of book edge patterns in InDesign. Since no freely available tools existed for this type of book edge design, Book Edge Slicer was developed to generate precise TIFF snippets from a prepared input image. These are exported together with an InDesign script to enable automated, DPI-accurate placement across all pages. This creates a precise and efficient workflow integration for book projects.

1. Upload Portrait Artwork

Upload your design in portrait orientation (as seen on the shelf). The tool automatically rotates and slices it for the long fore-edge.

2. 1-Bit Production

We generate high-res bitonal TIFFs (ONE COLOR). These 1-bit files allow you to apply any Spot/Pantone color directly in InDesign.

3. Automation Script

Your download includes a JSX script that places all slices perfectly on your document pages in seconds + instructions in the readme.txt
