What is this?
A browser based tool developed to help you save time creating beautiful and outstanding book(edge)s. Instead of slicing and placing an image manually across hundreds of pages in your layout software, you let the browser and a script do the work.

How does it work?
It's important to say that this tool has a very specific use case (for now): You upload an image for the fore-edge. It will be run through an threshold to separate light from dark image information.
Ideally, you prepare your graphic in advance to fit the dimensions of your book. Paperthickness * sheets * bookheight. If not, don't worry. Your graphic will be stretched to fit the thickness of the book. Input all dimensions and set a color for the 1-bit deep image-slices. It is important that you provide the correct number of SHEETS.

Download and further steps
Once the preview corresponds to what you want, click the download button. You will get a ZIP with all Image-Slices and further instructions concerning the automation script in InDesign.

Technical Preview:
The "Slices Preview" window shows a real-time generated preview of the sliced edge texture based on your input. It uses the same slicing logic as the final output, so you can see how your uploaded image will be processed before downloading.

Data Processing
Images are uploaded to our server for processing. Files are temporarily processed in memory and automatically deleted after generating your download package. No uploaded content is permanently stored on our servers. Processing occurs server-side using Python to ensure optimal performance and compatibility.
